“Mission: Impossible 8” has shifted its release date to May 23, 2025 due to actor strikes. More movie dates are expected to shift as actors continue to participate in the SAG-AFTRA strike.

AMC announced its first Screen Unseen event, which allows customers to watch a never-before-seen film in theaters. The catch? The movie won’t be unveiled until showtime. The first Screen Unseen event is set for Nov. 6, tickets will cost $5, and all we know is the movie will be rated PG-13.

The 18th annual Rome Film Fest is happening now (but wrapping up soon!). The event runs from October 18-29. Click here to read about the movies included in the event lineup.

Hou Hsiao-hsien (76), director of “A City of Sadness,” “The Puppetmaster,” “Flowers of Shanghai,” and “Millennium Mambo” is now retired from filmmaking as he battles with dementia.

Richard Roundtree, most notably known for his role as John Shaft in the “Shaft” movie franchise, has died at the age of 81.

Steven Weisberg, film editor for “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” and “Great Expectations,” has died at the age of 68.
