Industry News
Warner Bros. Discovery has decreased its 2023 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) forecast by $300-$500 million, “predominantly due to the impact of the [writers’] strikes.” But the company does expect to exceed $1.7 billion in free cash flow for the third quarter of 2023, thanks, in part, to the performance of “Barbie” and “strike-related factors.”
Once again, Swifties are proving to be a force, this time in the box office. Days after Taylor Swift announced her Eras Tour concert film would come to US movie theaters October 13th, tickets have been selling fast. Early predictions say the movie could potentially see $100 million opening weekend.
A “weird” script that may or may not include Johnny Depp? Variety reports that this is what you’re in for with “Pirates of the Caribbean 6.” The previous “Pirates” movies, starring Johnny Depp, grossed billions internationally. Without Johnny, how “Pirates of the Caribbean 6” will fare is anyone’s guess.
Will there be an “Equalizer 4"? Director Antoine Fuqua says maybe. But with Denzel Washington publicly stating he’s out, the next “Equalizer” could be a prequel instead.
