How influenced are you by Rotten Tomato scores? Hopefully not very because some of the reviews you read on there might have been gamed or influenced by agendas unrelated to the actual quality of the movie.

The Writers Guild of America is investigating complaints made by members of the guild about Q3 residuals. Some members are reporting late or smaller payments than usual. Deadline reports that shows from NBCUniversal, CBS Studios, and HBO were mentioned the most in the complaints.

Tim Burton and Micheal Keaton’s “Beetlejuice 2” was only 1.5 days away from wrapping up filming before the SAG-AFTRA strike shut down production indefinitely. The movie is “99% done” according to Tim Burton. And Warner Bros. is expected to release “Beetlejuice 2” in theaters on September 6, 2024.

The first major acquisition deal at the Toronto Film Festival? Anna Kendrick’s “Woman Of The Hour.” The deal was reportedly worth approximately $11 million and will be Anna Kendrick’s debut as a director. “Woman Of The Hour” tells the story of "The Dating Game” contestant who won a date with a serial killer.
