Hallmark movie fans rejoice! Hallmark is planning to release 40 new movies in the coming weeks. Even though there are 2 simultaneous writers’ strikes impacting film and TV production, the company claims it anticipated these labor disputes and got a head start on filming in Canada before it all began.

“Barbie” is now in the top 20 of the highest grossing domestic (US) movies. The film earned over $4 million this past week, which helped the movie displace “The Avengers” from its spot at #11 on the list.

SAG-AFTRA released its interim agreements program which allows independent productions with no direct ties to members of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers to keep filming. Here’s the current list of films and shows that SAG members can continue to work on in the midst of the strike.

Chris Evans said in an interview with GQ that he plans to act less and explore more autonomous activities (like smoking weed and trying pottery). Evans said he has not been on a movie set so far in 2023 and he does not plan to be for the rest of the year.
