The WGA writer’s strike ended yesterday, and workers can now return to work. The union reached a tentative deal with studios and streaming services, but the strike ending doesn’t guarantee the deal will go through.

Film festival fans rejoice! The Tokyo International Film Festival opens October 23. The Virginia Film Festival is coming to Charlottesville October 25-29. Florida’s Naples International Film Festival begins October 26-29.

How do you save cinema? Director Martin Scorsese says ‘fight back’ against what comic book movies are doing to movie culture. In his view, current comic book-based blockbusters give viewers a one-sided view of what films can be.

Swifties, stand up! Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film is going global and it’s expected to give overall cinema attendance (and revenue) a boost around the world. Originally, the film was set to debut in the US on October 13, but now that October 13 debut has been extended to more than 100 countries around the globe.
