The WGA writers strike is officially over. After a week of voting, 99% of the WGA membership cast their ballots in favor of ratifying the three-year Minimum Basic Agreement. This new deal, which addresses A.I. guardrails, residuals, writers room staffing, data transparency, and pay hikes, runs from September 25, 2023 to May 31, 2026.
Middle East and North Africa-focused distributor Front Row Filmed Entertainment and Saudi Arabia-based producer Al Sarid Films have launched the trailer for the Saudi Arabian epic “Within Sand”. This will be the first Saudi film to be shot in Neom, the region of the country set to be home to a proposed $500 billion megacity. Fun Fact: To make the movie as authentic as possible, the production used a real wolf on set.
Anthony Hickox, 64, the British director known for comedy-horror films such as Waxwork and Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth died at home on October 9, 2023.
The drama surrounding “Aquaman 2” is getting messier by the minute. But despite the alleged hostility on set and some meddling intervention from Elon Musk, box office analyst Jeff Bock believes the movie could still be a hit.
